Summer School Portal

Welcome to the Â鶹ƵµÀ Summer School Portal.
Here you can find important information relating to running your programme with us, along with links to useful resources.
Our summer school welcome pack includes all the necessary information relating to staying in college, including dining and housekeeping information.
To view the welcome pack, please see .
It is imperative that your students (and staff) adhere to the House Rules. Failure to do so may result in the college ceasing it's relationship with your respective company. Please see the downloads section at the top of this page for a copy of these rules.
We take the safety of all visitors seriously. Therefore, it is crucial all relevant safety information is given to staff and students.
Safety Presentation (Fire Talk)
All summer schools must have a Fire Talk at the start of the programme. This is a short presentation given by the Head Porter which goes over generic aspects of student safety while on-site and instructions relating to fire safety. You will have been communicated the date, time and location of your Fire Talk by a member of the Events Team. A pre-recorded video option is also available as a supplement to the Fire Talk. There may be a rare instance in which an in-person Fire Talk is not possible. If this is the case, we ask that the video is played to all students during their welcome briefing (as run by the summer school). For the video, please see .
Fire Evacuation Points
Please communicate the various Fire Evacuation Meeting Points relevant to your group (based on classroom/bedroom location) -- see the Fire Site Plan in the downloads section above.
Please note that fire alarm testing occurs throughout the college every Wednesday afternoon.
The safety presentation video has been created through the use of generative AI. All presenters, although based on real people, are AI-generated avatars.
Dining Times
Your group's dining times (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will have been communicated to you prior to arrival. Please ensure all students arrive for the start of the allocated slot and are seated at the correct table. A member of the FOH team will then direct your group to the servery. We ask that staff wait until all students have been served before proceeding through the servery themselves.
Formal Halls
We offer the option to upgrade to a 'Formal Hall' -- a formal dinner typical to Cambridge University. These three-course dinners take place in either the Fellows' Suite or the Dome Dining Hall. We may combine the booking with other summer school groups who have requested a Formal Hall that evening and cannot guarantee availability, so please put in your request to the Events Team as early as possible.
Art Cafe
The Art Cafe is open from 08:00-17:00 daily, serving hot and cold drinks and a variety of snacks. Students and staff are welcome to use this shared space casually. Please note that we do not accept cash.
We are always looking to improve our catering offering and experience. If you have any feedback, please share it with us .
All groups will be provided with a print card at the start of the programme. This card allows staff and students to upload files to be printed. Please use the printers in the IT/Library basement corridor:
-
In the internal walkway (overlooking fountain court), go through the glass door and down the set of stairs
- Use the print card to go through the next set of glass doors
- Follow the corridor down and left
- The printer will be on your left
For instructions on using the print card, please see the downloads section at the top of this page.
To upload files to your card to print, please use the portal .
Please note that each summer school is provided with only one card. To save time, it is advised you print in batches.
If you have booked use of the laundry machines for your group you will have been given a code from the Events team. This code provides access to the machines - please communicate it to your staff and students. Please note that we do not offer detergent.
Laundry machines are available in Buckingham House, Pearl House and Paula Browne House.
For instructions on how to use the machines, please see the downloads section at the top of this page.
Have a problem relating to your stay (e.g maintenance/housekeeping)? Please report it using the form . A member of the Events Team will respond in due course.
