Asian & Middle Eastern Studies
Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES) allows you to study contemporary global cultures through an in-depth exploration of language, culture and history. The areas you can study stretch from Japan in the East to Morocco in the West, and from classical times to the present day. On this 4-year course, you spend your time immersed in the language and culture of your chosen subjects and you will spend the third year in the country or countries relevant to your studies. More information about the course, including details of the year abroad, can be found on the .
AMES at Murray Edwards
At Murray Edwards, we typically admit 1-2 students a year for AMES, so there are typically 3-6 undergraduate students in the College at any one time (with another one or two on their year abroad). You will be part of a small but tightly-knit cohort within the College, and there are ample opportunities to engage with the wider Cambridge AMES cohort.
