Join us for an afternoon of talks with artists and academics on the topic of still life in modern and contemporary art. The event will explore the radical and enduring nature of still life by women artists and its role as a site for artistic experimentation. Speakers include Sekai Machache (artist in Life is Still Life), Maisie Cousins (artist in Life is Still Life),  Dr Claudia Tobin (author of Modernism and Still Life) and Naomi Polonsky (curator of Life is Still Life). Book your spot .

Session 1

2pm: introduction to still life by women artists by curator Naomi Polonsky

2.30pm: presentation and Q&A with artist Sekai Machache

3pm: Break (tea & coffee, time to see exhibition, still life drawing class)

Session 2

4pm: talk on still life and Modernism by academic Dr Claudia Tobin

4:30pm: presentation and Q&A with artist Maisie Cousins

5pm: Q&A with all the speakers and closing remarks
